Dear Friends,
I am profoundly honored by the decision of the Ann Arbor Education Association to endorse me as a candidate for Ann Arbor Public Schools Trustee. I thank the AAEA not just for this endorsement but for their continued advocacy for Ann Arbor’s teachers, students, and community members. I particularly want to highlight the work of President Fred Klein, Vice-President Tamala Bell, and PAC Chair Nathan Smead; their leadership in this time of crisis serves as an inspiration.
I’m in this race because of the blood, toil, tears and sweat of thirteen years worth of Ann Arbor teachers. The love, care, and unending sacrifice of the people who educated me has enabled me to graduate from high school with honors, attend the University of Michigan, and make this serious bid for public office. From Mrs. Joseph to Ms. Jackson to Mrs. McManus to Mrs. Rudberg to Mrs. Cheladyn to Mrs. Embry to Brit Satchwell to Lauren Stout to Jack Wagner to Marci Harris to Debra Fitzgerald to the countless others I’ve had along the way, Ann Arbor teachers have always believed in me and always had my back.
I intend to build off the trust and care put in me by these everyday heroes to deliver for every teacher, every staff member, every student, and every community member in our district. I know that we can once again become a district that leads, cares, and inspires.
Sincerely,
Aaron J. Puno
Candidate for Ann Arbor School Board
